Invitation to 2004 World Championships of Freediving

July 17, 2004 -- As the proud host of the 2004 World Team Championships of Freediving, The Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA) is honoured to have the opportunity to invite you to Canada’s first ever World Freediving competition.

Dubbed ‘the original Extreme Sport’ Freediving and its powerful imagery of top-shape athletes and their dramatic underwater performances is quickly becoming recognized as the next lifestyle sport. No tanks, no equipment, athletes rely solely on their natural abilities to adapt to the underwater environment during intense competition. The surface conclusions will blow you out of the water.

The ‘2004 World’s’ will be held August 4-12th in Vancouver, Canada with Depth diving (Constant Ballast) on location in majestic Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and Time (Static Apnea) and Distance (Dynamic Apnea) at the UBC Aquatic Centre. All locations will have prime vantage points for confirmed international press and a media centre will be provided at the UBC campus. Accommodations in the Athlete village are also available.
